Summary

Join Hey Jane, a telehealth provider of reproductive and sexual health services, as a contract MD to provide medication abortion care. You will review patient medical intake, communicate via HIPAA-compliant messaging or video appointments, and determine treatment eligibility. Prescriptions are sent to a mail-order pharmacy. Our nursing and patient advocate teams handle administrative tasks, patient education, and non-urgent medical support. You will respond to medical inquiries requiring further evaluation and direct nursing staff as needed. This fully remote position requires availability for at least two hours daily during clinic hours (10 am-8 pm ET) and on-call shifts. Compensation is $125/hour.

Requirements

• Active Board Certification, in good standing to practice medicine
• Active state licensure (MD, DO) and licensed in PA or license+residency in one of the following states: CO, DC, DE, IL, MD, NJ, or WA
• Willing and eligible to apply for additional licenses
• No restrictions on ability to be credentialed with Medicaid or other payers
• 1+ year experience providing abortion & reproductive healthcare
• Interest in providing caring and compassionate services to diverse population with a non-judgmental, patient-centered approach
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Skilled at using online tools and technology to deliver care and communicate with patients

Responsibilities

• Provide medication abortion care to patients via Hey Jane’s online platform
• Review patients’ medical intake responses
• Communicate with patients via our HIPAA-compliant messaging app or on a live video appointment
• Determine if patients are eligible for online medication abortion treatment
• Respond to medical inquiries from patients that require further medical evaluation
• Direct nursing staff regarding referrals and additional prescriptions, as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed in one or more of the following states: CA, IL, KS, NJ, NV, NY, OH, VA
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Startup experience
• Competency in providing trauma-informed care
• 1+ year of telehealth experience
