Summary

Caraway is a home goods brand seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team in China. The individual will lead projects, conduct mechanical design and analysis, oversee manufacturing processes, manage sourcing and selection of suppliers, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English
• Hands-on experience and strong knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Proficiency with CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong project management skills
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, or a related role
• Ability to travel 25-50% of the time to manufacturing partner’s facilities
• Familiarity with sourcing and supplier management practices
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects from conception to completion
• Work hand-in-hand with suppliers to execute on project deliverables
• Conduct mechanical design and analysis activities
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal quality engineer to resolve technical issues
• Oversee the manufacturing process
• Manage the sourcing and selection of suppliers
