Summary
Join Penta Group as a Media Data Director and lead data operations and partnerships, playing a central role in evolving our product suite. You will drive how we source, structure, and optimize media data, ensuring it supports product performance and scalability. Collaborate with engineering, data science, and advisory teams to maintain a high-integrity data pipeline. This role offers an emerging product leader the chance to shape the data strategy behind products trusted by colleagues and clients globally. Manage data pipelines, own projects improving data integrity, identify new data sources, become an expert in the platform's tagging and sentiment scoring system, support tag creation and improvement requests, research and recommend data partnership changes, maintain data cost and contract tracking, report usage to licensing bodies, maintain user documentation, and support colleagues and clients in proper data usage.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Analytics, Project Management, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in the media industry, preferably in a data focused role
- A strong understanding of the traditional and modern media ecosystem
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- A passion for data-driven decision-making, innovation, and technology
Responsibilities
- Manage our products’ data pipelines by utilizing pipeline monitoring tools and support channels carefully to spot issues before they become problems
- Own and manage projects related to improving data integrity, pipelines, sources, and source management
- Identify new data sources based on their value add to Penta’s market and products, and determine the best way to integrate that data into our product suite by working with engineering
- Become an expert in the platform’s tagging and sentiment scoring system to spot issues and recommend improvements to make tagging more precise and sentiment scoring more accurate and precise
- Support requests for creating new tags and improving existing tags in the platform
- Research and recommend changes to our data partnerships to improve data quality and reduce data acquisition costs
- Maintain tracking of all data costs and contracts, including what data is being ingested from which data providers, their cost, contract terms, renewal timing
- Report usage to copyright licensing bodies and data providers as contractually warranted
- Maintain easy to access documentation for users to know what data we have available
- Support colleagues and clients with ensuring data from our products is used properly, and liaison with the marketing team as needed to promote data-based solutions to solve client challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience utilizing Generative AI technologies, where an advanced understanding of techniques such as prompt engineering is preferred
- Experience sourcing, evaluating, and contracting with external data providers, is preferred
- Prior industry experience in Public Relations, or Advertising, is highly preferred
