Reporting to the International Media Relations Manager, you will support media relations globally, raising awareness of Mary's Meals' mission. Requirements
- Experience in media writing and journalism from an international environment
- Fluency in English and at least one other language
- Proven experience of working in a busy press office, promoting media stories and handling urgent media calls
- Strong understanding of news outlets and effective media collaboration
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Cultural sensitivity and a passion for the work of Maryโs Meals
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with an aptitude and willingness to learn new technologies including Dot Digital, Canva and new AI tools
Responsibilities
- Draft and review high-quality press releases and bespoke comments for MMI and affiliates
- Distribute press releases and media statements to key contacts, including journalists and editors
- Identify and reach out to international media contacts and respond to media enquiries
- Research and manage media databases, including affiliate access and relationships
- Follow up on media pitches and support interviews with MMI spokespeople
- Collate and analyse media coverage and draft monthly reports for senior management
- Liaise with National and Programme affiliates to support their media efforts
- Assist in organising media events and coverage for Maryโs Meals events
- Support crisis response situations and represent Maryโs Meals when required
- Support the organisation and follow-up of media trips
- Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure consistent messaging
- Lead on podcast pitches and curate podcast programming
