Medical Biller

Summary

Join ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa, a global BPO company, as a remote Medical Biller supporting a U.S.-based healthcare client. This role demands in-depth knowledge of U.S. medical billing software and U.S. insurance policies. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting billing data, ensuring accurate patient information, and following up on unpaid claims. The position requires working U.S. hours (9 am to 6 pm EST) and a reliable internet connection with a fixed fiber line and power backup. Successful candidates will possess exceptional English communication skills, a strong work ethic, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. medical billing software
• Strong understanding of U.S. medical insurance policies
• Work USA hours, Mon - Fri, from 9am to 6pm EST time (16h00pm to 01h00am South African time - subject to change depending on daylight savings)
• A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection
• A reliable power backup solution
• South African Citizen

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies
• Ensuring each patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date
• Preparing bills and invoices and document amounts due to medical procedures and services
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
• Communicate with healthcare providers regarding billing practices
• Follow up on unpaid claims and denials
• Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and guidelines
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
• Maintain accurate records on customer interactions, transaction, feedback, etc
• Collaborate with colleagues and different departments to resolve complex issues
• Provides customer support through different communication channels (Phone, email, chat)
• Resolve issues & accommodate customer inquiries to ensure satisfaction with products or services
