Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing
• Thorough understanding of medical billing procedures and coding (ICD-10, CPT)
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance regulations
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Accurately submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
• Review and verify patient insurance information
• Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant guidelines
• Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff
• Process patient payments and reconcile accounts
• Stay current with changes in medical billing regulations and procedures
• Identify and resolve billing errors and denials
• Generate reports on billing activity and performance

Preferred Qualifications
