Summary
The job involves a remote Medical Physicist position requiring at least 20 years of clinical experience in state-of-the-art radiotherapy. The ideal candidate should have a PhD specializing in Brachytherapy, External Beam Therapy, and Radiopharmaceutical therapy, be board certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics, and have a proven track record working with Patient Safety Organizations (PSO) of AHRQ. The primary responsibilities include web-based review of each reported incident, online communication to get supplemental information, creating a patient safety work product, participating in regular calls with service chiefs, medical physicists, and radiation therapists/dosimetrists, generating quarterly newsletters and reports, and regularly communicating with ROS.
Requirements
- 20 years minimum clinical experience in state-of-the-art radiotherapy
- Possession of a PhD specializing in Brachytherapy, External Beam Therapy, and Radiopharmaceutical therapy
- Board certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics
- Proven track record working with Patient Safety Organizations (PSO) of AHRQ
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for safe radiation used in cancer treatments
Responsibilities
- Web-based review of each reported incident
- Participate in regularly scheduled calls with the service chiefs, medical physicists, radiation therapists/dosimetrists
- Generate quarterly newsletter highlighting lessons-learnt from reported incidents
- Regularly communicate with ROS to address their questions regarding RIRAS
- Set up regular virtual office hour (1hour/week) for end-users
