Summary

Join BayNova's IT Infrastructure Team as a Network Engineer supporting a federal government customer. This hybrid role is primarily remote, with occasional on-site work in Alexandria, VA. You will perform network maintenance and upgrades, ensure network integrity and compliance, and design and configure data communication networks. The position requires extensive experience with Cisco and other networking technologies, troubleshooting skills, and experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. On-call rotation and occasional nights/weekend work are required. A competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.

Requirements

  • Experience with administering mid to large size enterprise networks to include routing and switching technologies, i.e. EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, STP, VSS, vPC, MLAG, Ethernet, and associated monitoring systems
  • Experience with Cisco ISE, RADIUS, TACACS+, and PKI along with the wired and wireless configurations required to implement them
  • Experience with Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and/or Palo Alto Networks firewalls supporting Remote Access VPN, Site-to-Site VPN, perimeter and internal firewalling
  • Working knowledge of PKI, 802.1X, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and VPN
  • Administrator level experience on Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems
  • Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure networking experience, i.e., Transit Gateway, VPC, NACLs
  • Ability to work onsite at the customer's location in Alexandria, VA; Work-from-home available on a case-by-case basis
  • 24x7 On-call rotation for afterhours support
  • Nights and/or weekends troubleshooting, performing maintenance and any other special circumstances
  • Self-starting individual with the ability to work independently on issues with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented technical and strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional customer service and follow up skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
  • Maintain network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability
  • Create plans and configure systems for data communication networks
  • Support the design and build of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and resolve problems as well as identify deficiencies and solutions to improve a variety of environments and serve as a point of escalation for other teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Cisco CCNA or CCNP or equivalent
  • FMC (Firepower Management Center) experience
  • Experience with Cisco Datacenter products (Nexus, UCS)
  • Cisco Wireless Networks
  • Software Defined Networking Technologies (SD-WAN, SASE)
  • Palo Alto Networks experience
