Network Engineer

Summary

As a Network Engineer at SSS Public Safety, you will be responsible for maintaining internal engineering solutions, resolving network-related incidents, providing third-line support, and completing IT health check remediation changes. You will also support the wider network engineering team in network solution delivery and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on network and security experience CCNA or higher (CCNP highly valued)
• Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., GRE, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Configuring and installing various network devices and services including; routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, GRE, QoS
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
• Proven experience gained in a support role
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network and security diagnostic and network analytics tools
• Excellent communication and client facing/customer service skills
• Proven experience working to ITIL best practices
• Able to obtain or currently hold the relevant security clearances (SC and/or NPPV)
• Full, current driving licence
• Strong interpersonal/team skills
• Self-motivation

Responsibilities

• Maintaining the network for internal engineering solutions
• Resolving Networks related Incidents raised within contracted SLA timescales
• Providing Networks 3rd line support
• Completing IT Health Check remediation changes
• Supporting the wider Network engineering team in network solution delivery and continuous improvement
