Wireless Network Engineer

Summary

Join Symmetrio as a Wireless Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure, high-performance wireless networks for a large government organization in Philadelphia, PA. This is a remote full-time position that requires occasional travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Information Science Technology or related field
• 5+ years of wireless network deployment and management
• Expertise in wireless networking standards (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and protocols
• Strong knowledge of wireless security (WPA3, 802.1x, RADIUS)
• Proficient in network troubleshooting and site survey tools
• Experience with Juniper networking and security products
• Familiarity with cloud-based wireless management platforms

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy wireless networks (Wi-Fi, cellular), including access points and controllers
• Configure and optimize wireless access points (WAPs), including routers and switches for peak performance
• Implement and manage security protocols (WPA2, WPA3, etc.) and encryption to safeguard the network from unauthorized access
• Troubleshoot and resolve wireless network issues to ensure minimal downtime
• Conduct wireless site surveys and assessments to meet coverage needs
• Collaborate with network and security teams to integrate wireless solutions
• Monitor the performance, reliability, and security of the wireless network
• Perform regular maintenance and firmware upgrades on wireless network devices

Preferred Qualifications

• String problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Certifications (CWNA, CWSP, or MIST) is a plus
