Requirements
- Obtain a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Have a minimum of 7 years of experience, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in addition to one of the identified certifications
- Possess strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall configurations, and VPNs
- Have experience with cloud platforms and cybersecurity practices
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable network solutions that support business objectives, remote workforce needs, and security best practices
- Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime
- Enforce network security by configuring firewalls, encryption protocols, and secure remote access solutions; ensure adherence to cybersecurity and regulatory compliance standards
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to respond to incidents, develop network recovery strategies, and integrate secure network solutions with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Workspace
- Perform network audits, analyze traffic patterns, and make proactive recommendations to optimize network performance, bandwidth usage, and security
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure knowledge continuity and support cross-functional collaboration
- Leverage automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Ansible, Python) to streamline configuration management, improve efficiency, and reduce the potential for manual errors
- Manage advanced network monitoring and alerting systems, proactively identifying performance issues and opportunities for improvement
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies, security best practices, and industry trends to continuously enhance network resilience and performance

- Possess strong analytical and decision-making skills for diagnosing complex network issues and implementing effective solutions
- Be proficient in written and verbal communication for clear documentation and cross-team collaboration
- Have experience with cloud networking and integration (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) to support hybrid or cloud-based network environments
- Have knowledge of network automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible, Python, PowerShell) to streamline processes and reduce manual configurations
- Be able to work independently in a remote setting, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to dynamic environments
- Have familiarity with security-focused certifications or frameworks (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP) to reinforce network security protocols and practices
- Have experience with advanced network monitoring tools and proactive alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance
- Hold relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
- Have proven experience in network engineering, ideally with remote workforce environments
