Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Demonstrable experience as a Tier 2 Network Engineer or in a comparable role
• Profound knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security principles
• Hands-on familiarity with network hardware and software, including Cisco ACI, NX-OS, IOS, Cisco UCS, F5, and similar platforms
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and protocols
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, OCI, and others
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and promptly resolve network incidents, outages, and performance issues
• Collaborate with Tier 1 support to escalate and diagnose intricate network problems
• Implement network changes, updates, and patches with minimal disruption to services
• Conduct regular network audits and health checks to proactively identify and rectify potential issues
• Assist in the design, deployment, and upkeep of LAN, WAN, and data center networks
• Configure, deploy, and oversee network devices including switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points
• Collaborate across teams to ensure network requirements for new applications and services are met
• Enforce network security policies, protocols, and industry best practices
• Monitor network traffic for signs of suspicious activities and respond to security incidents as needed
• Perform vulnerability assessments and collaborate with the security team to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Monitor network performance metrics, identifying optimization opportunities
• Propose and implement network upgrades, capacity planning, and enhancements to improve network efficiency
• Maintain accurate and current network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures
• Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and their resolutions
• Collaborate with IT teams and departments, offering technical expertise and support
• Mentor and guide Tier 1 support engineers in enhancing their technical proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SolarWinds
• Relevant certifications like CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, or equivalents
