You will monitor Huawei WLAN devices, troubleshoot connectivity issues, configure APs and ACs, optimize Wi-Fi performance, plan and execute Wi-Fi coverage, and implement security policies. The position requires collaboration with IT teams and vendors, generating reports, and maintaining updated documentation. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in a relevant field and several years of experience in network engineering and Wi-Fi technologies, particularly with Huawei equipment.

Requirements

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking or years of experience in a similar role / similar duties
  • 3+ years in network engineering or administration roles
  • 2+ years specifically in Wi-Fi/WLAN design, configuration, or troubleshooting
  • Experience with Huawei equipment is required or strongly preferred
  • Skilled in log analysis and debugging via CLI
  • Participated in or led Wi-Fi deployments, network upgrades, or campus network implementations
  • Experience working in enterprise IT, ISP, telecom, or managed services environments
  • Problem-solving mindset and structured approach to troubleshooting
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and end users
  • Documentation and reporting ability
  • Adaptability to work in dynamic environments (fieldwork, on-call, etc.)
  • Excellent command of English language written and verbal
  • Team player with strong work ethic and excellent documentation skills
  • Have a strong customer service focus when accomplishing tasks and projects
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance of Huawei WLAN devices (e.g., APs, ACs, switches) using tools like eSight, iMaster NCE
  • Identify and troubleshoot connectivity issues, weak signal areas, interference, and client connection drops
  • Use command-line interfaces (CLI) or GUI-based tools for diagnostics (display wlan, debug, etc.)
  • Configure Huawei Access Points (APs) and Access Controllers (ACs) for SSIDs, VLANs, QoS, roaming, and authentication (802.1X, Portal)
  • Adjust channel plans, power settings, and bandwidth to optimize Wi-Fi performance
  • Tune the radio environment using Huawei's Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) and Transmit Power Control (TPC)
  • Plan and execute Wi-Fi coverage based on Huawei’s tools (e.g., WLAN Planner, iMaster NCE-Campus)
  • Conduct site surveys (predictive and physical) and validate coverage with heatmaps
  • Deploy new APs, perform testing, and integrate into existing WLAN infrastructure
  • Implement security policies: WPA3, 802.1X, MAC filtering, rogue AP detection
  • Monitor security logs for unauthorized access attempts or rogue devices
  • Coordinate with IT Security team for compliance and incident response
  • Work with L2/L3 switches and routers to ensure proper VLAN tagging, PoE configuration, and routing for wireless networks
  • Support integration with Huawei CloudCampus, SD-WAN, or hybrid networks
  • Generate reports on Wi-Fi usage, performance, and incident trends
  • Document network diagrams, configurations, change records, and incident resolution procedures
  • Provide support to helpdesk or end users on wireless issues
  • Work with other network engineers, system admins, or vendors for escalation or complex problem resolution
  • Participate in regular maintenance (patching and upgrades)
  • Stay updated with Huawei certifications (e.g., HCIA/HCIP/HCIE in WLAN or Datacom)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Huawei network equipment: Huawei CloudEngine switches, AirEngine APs, AC6000 series, etc
  • Proficiency in Huawei's NMS and orchestration tools: iMaster NCE-Campus, eSight, WLAN Planner
  • CLI & web-based configuration (Huawei VRP system)
  • Huawei Certifications : HCIA-WLAN, HCIP-WLAN, HCIE-WLAN
  • CWNA/CWNP
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP (for multi-vendor environments)
  • CompTIA Network
