Network Security Engineer

Requirements

• Experience in network security engineering or related field
• Proficiency in firewall management and network security protocols
• Experience with Juniper and Palo Alto firewalls is highly preferred
• Experience with capturing, analyzing, and interpreting network packet captures
• Experience with designing, implementing, and troubleshooting site-to-site and client-based VPNs
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and NAT
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols
• Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and network monitoring tools
• Knowledge of encryption technologies, authentication protocols, and threat detection methods
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts related to AWS, Azure, and GCP is a plus
• Experience with SD-WAN solutions and cloud network security
• Familiarity with automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for network tasks
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networks
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot firewalls, IPS, IDS, and other network security devices
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot web security controls, such as CASB and SWG
• Monitor security alerts, responding to security incidents in a timely manner
• Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices
• Implement firewall rule sets, access control lists, and policies for intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
• Monitor and scan our perimeter to identify potential risks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure integration of new applications and services into the network
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies to proactively mitigate threats
• Participate in on-call after-hours rotation to provide timely support for security events and incidents
• Take ownership of tasks, ensuring thorough follow-up and resolution of security requests, changes, and incidents
