Observability - UI - Engineering Manager

Summary

Join Elastic as a Team Lead to lead a team of engineers in developing user experience components for Kibana UIs and APIs. You will guide the team in shaping the roadmap, assess priorities, and ensure efficient delivery. Collaborate with Product Management and other teams to deliver comprehensive observability features. The role requires experience leading distributed software engineering teams and hands-on software engineering experience. Knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript is essential. Requirements

• Experience leading distributed teams of software engineers
• Experience as a hands-on software engineer so you understand the core principles of the engineering work that is going on in your team
• Knowledge of TypeScript / JavaScript

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and lead a globally distributed team of Kibana developers
• Lead the efficient delivery of software across a variety of deployment mechanisms (self managed, platform as a service and fully managed), ensuring high quality and innovative feature development
• Work with our Product Management team to define requirements
• Foster a culture of mutual respect, collaboration and consensus-based decision-making
• Stay true to the principles of software development as adopted by our team
• Build roadmaps, lead prioritization and maintain the team’s backlog; balancing the right amount of structure and planning for a fast-paced engineering team
• Identify resource requirements and help drive recruitment of high quality colleagues
• Support the personal and professional development and training of team members through regular performance evaluations
• Be a role model for your team, somebody who sincerely empathizes with others
