Summary

Join an award-winning advisory firm as their Operations Manager, leading the M&A & Advisory support team and providing executive support to the Managing Director. This pivotal role requires a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about systems, structure, and communication. You will be responsible for strategic support to the Managing Director, investment materials creation, operational management, and team collaboration. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of relevant B2B experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with AI tools and marketing principles is also essential. This is a remote, full-time position.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant B2B experience (services, not manufacturing) working alongside High Performing Leaders
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and commitment to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to express opinions clearly, take initiative, and work independently without constant direction
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles with experience in creating investor- focused narratives
  • Ability to design visually appealing presentations that effectively communicate business value
  • Comfortable using AI tools (such as ChatGPT) and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in AI
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or similar tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Proactive, curious, and focused on self-improvement and professional development
  • Must be able to demonstrate relevant results/skills and talk through how they achieved them
  • We expect the candidate to have the essential IT equipment (i.e. desktop or laptop) and a high-end plan with excellent speed

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Managing Director, managing day-to-day priorities, workflows, and communications
  • Act as the liaison between the Managing Director and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on key projects
  • Proactively anticipate needs, address challenges, and contribute to the achievement of strategic goals
  • Lead the development of high-quality Information Memorandums (IMs) that effectively convey the value of clientsโ€™ businesses to potential acquirers
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather insights on business operations, financials, and growth strategies
  • Use AI tools to enhance the efficiency of document creation while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Conduct market research to enrich IM content and support decision-making
  • Develop additional supporting materials to pitch clientsโ€™ businesses to potential investors and acquirers
  • Oversee project timelines and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Manage research tasks related to business sale marketing campaigns and other business projects
  • Assist in developing marketing strategies to present businesses to potential investors or buyers
  • Track buyer/acquirer engagement, including email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, and NDA verifications
  • Maintain CRM systems, such as Pipedrive, to ensure up-to-date communication and deal tracking
  • Create and manage systems for monitoring marketing campaign responses, including email bounces, unsubscribes, and engagement
  • Set up ads on business sales platforms and manage inquiries from potential buyers
  • Assist with managing certain deal stages, including scheduling meetings, maintaining project documentation, and liaising with clients and advisors
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational tasks and efficiencies using AI or technology
  • Work closely with the Managing Directors and advisors to deliver high-quality project outcomes
  • Support staff through outbound calls and manage processes to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate with co-founders and team members, to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Lead initiatives to streamline internal systems and processes, ensuring continuous improvement
  • Take proactive ownership of tasks and continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Embrace continuous learning and contribute to the overall growth and development of the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial or accounting backgrounds are not essential, but experience with qualitative analysis and business strategy is a plus
  • Prior experience in M&A, Management Consulting, or Professional Services is an advantage, but not required
  • Australian B2B experience is a nice to have
  • Familiarity with Pipedrive, Go High Level, or WordPress is advantageous
  • Experience with mid-market companies
