Summary

Join our team as an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our lobbying and government relations teams. This senior-level role involves managing and coordinating multiple teams of lobbyists and attorneys working on state and federal advocacy campaigns. You will oversee campaign planning, execution, and evaluation, lead team meetings, and produce regular reports to executive leadership. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, along with extensive experience in operations management, preferably within lobbying or government affairs. A hybrid and remote work environment is offered, with occasional domestic travel required. The salary range is $250,000 - $300,000, with a discretionary performance-based bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, political science, public administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in lobbying, government affairs, or public policy
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory processes at state and federal levels
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to lobbying activities
  • Experience managing remote teams
  • Proven track record of successfully managing teams and complex projects
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing professionals
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency with project management tools and reporting systems
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate teams of lobbyists and attorneys across state and federal projects
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of advocacy campaigns
  • Lead regular team meetings and coordinate cross-functional collaboration
  • Produce and present weekly reports and updates to executive leadership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for critical project issues and provide timely resolution
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation
  • Travel domestically as needed to support team operations and client engagements
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication
  • Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or MPA)
  • Previous experience in a consulting or professional services firm
