Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 9 years’ experience; PhD with 5 years’ experience
- Experience in sophisticated business environments across EA frameworks
- Technical background in healthcare, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices or pharmaceutical companies
- Experience in a variety of IT roles including technical, application development, business systems, and data management
- Additional experience in setting IT Strategy, formal product evaluations, interactions with senior IT management, and managing multi‐divisional and cross‐divisional teams
- Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved technology solutions with remarkable impact on company productivity
- Demonstrated ability to influence others in areas of technology
Responsibilities
- Create new solutions and architecture models that contribute to organizational effectiveness
- Provide planning and discipline to ensure that investments in process improvement, information, and technology support the organization's strategic goals, enabling quick responses to changes in market conditions and new opportunities
- Develops and achieves discipline strategy in alignment with functional goals and key business objectives
- Collaborates with experts within function to integrate technical objectives into activities associated with accelerated development of new/improved products or technology
- Advances technical expertise within function
- Proactively demonstrates leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management
- Mentors and trains functional colleagues and assesses current and emerging business challenges enabling functional goal achievement
- Ensures quality and effectiveness of major project plans within function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies
- Provides strategic consultancy support to customers in defining or designing business processes and researching and identifying enabling technologies based on customer requirements
- Sources and identifies emerging technological trends from multiple internal and external sources and assess relevance
- Proactively drives strategic business thinking to gain maximum benefit from investments
- Applies imagination and innovation by creating, inventing, and implementing new or better approaches, alternatives and breakthrough ideas that are valued by customers within the function
- Shapes relationships with affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization
- Presents technology concepts and results for functional technical and non‐technical leaders as well as potential and existing partners
- Maximizes impact and value of expertise
- Responsible for adherence to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, and data security
