Summary

Join Ollie, a company dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their owners, as a 6-month Packaging Engineer co-op. You will contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. Working closely with the Packaging Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams, you will gain hands-on experience in packaging design, testing, and optimization. This remote role requires 25% travel and is ideal for students pursuing a degree in a related field. You will assist in developing and testing new packaging, coordinate performance tests, and collaborate on sustainability initiatives. Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Packaging Science, Materials Engineering or a related field
  • Have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
  • Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to successfully work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, innovation, and initiative
  • Be comfortable working in a technology-driven, late-stage startup environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and testing of new packaging materials and designs to ensure functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate and conduct packaging performance tests
  • Develop and refine packaging processes that align with Ollie’s sustainability and quality objectives
  • Collaborate with FSQA, R&D, and Process Engineering teams to implement and test new packaging materials and technologies
  • Troubleshoot packaging-related production issues and propose actionable solutions
  • Support sustainability initiatives by researching eco-friendly materials and optimizing packaging designs to reduce waste
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to define packaging material specifications, ensuring consistent quality and manufacturing standards

Preferred Qualifications

Have familiarity with packaging testing methods and equipment
