Summary

Join CleanChoice Energy, a national renewable energy company, as a Paralegal supporting the Solar Development team. This role focuses on providing paralegal support for utility-scale solar power plants, encompassing project development, finance, construction, asset management, and compliance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in renewable energy project development or related areas
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions, contract management, and legal compliance
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented approach, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively summarize and communicate complex legal concepts
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, document management systems, and MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting real estate diligence, including reviewing title searches, zoning analysis, and environmental assessments
  • Prepare and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to project development, such as leases, easements, and other project agreements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate the timely completion of development milestones
  • Create and maintain all legal entities for the division including LLC formation, annual filings, preparation and maintenance of operating agreements, and preparation of certificates and resolutions
  • Provide support in organizing and maintaining project finance documentation, including tax equity agreements and financing documents
  • Assist in conducting due diligence related to project financing and tax equity investments
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations during the construction phase
  • Assist in maintaining and managing project-related entities, such as limited liability companies (LLCs)
  • Support compliance efforts by monitoring and maintaining legal and regulatory records and filings
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends related to solar project development and asset management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external parties to resolve contract-related issues or disputes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of project finance, tax equity, and construction concepts is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with LLC management and compliance is a plus
