Summary
Join Equivity, a leader in virtual assistance services, as a remote paralegal providing comprehensive support to attorneys across various legal disciplines. You will manage tasks such as drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and monitoring deadlines while maintaining professional communication with clients. This role requires 3+ years of California law firm experience in at least two practice areas (personal injury, family law, probate, estate planning, or civil litigation). You must be tech-savvy, highly organized, and available to respond to client requests within one hour during standard business hours. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a California law firm, with proficiency in at least two practice areas such as personal injury, family law, probate, estate planning, or civil litigation
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Highly organized, responsive, and reliable with excellent time management skills
- Must have a Windows-based computer, reliable internet, and a smartphone
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years of recent paralegal experience in California
- Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM
- Ability to work 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support tailored to the unique needs of attorneys across various legal disciplines
- Operate independently while managing tasks such as drafting legal documents, organizing case files, and monitoring deadlines
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM – 6 PM)
- Coordinate with legal teams, court personnel, and third parties to ensure smooth case progression
- Adapt quickly to new legal workflows and client preferences, supporting matters from intake through resolution
- Work remotely with the flexibility to manage a consistent workload of 20–40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with case management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar
- Experience with California courts, e-filing procedures, and judicial council forms preferred
