Partner Development Manager

Summary

Join Stripe's Financial Partnerships team as a Partner Development Manager to develop and execute global strategies for building Stripe's crypto and stablecoin relationships with key banking and financial partners. You will design, scale, and improve mechanisms to deepen partner relationships and create impactful programs. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and banking partners' executive teams to execute Stripe's long-term strategy. Success requires managing and developing partners, strategic and analytical thinking, and influencing others. The ideal candidate will possess a high agency attitude and a drive to achieve impactful results.

Requirements

• 7+ years of financial services experience that includes working within the crypto and/or stablecoin ecosystem, with or at banking institutions or payments systems; experience across partner management or business development working with banking institutions in PSPs or fintechs enabling pay in/pay out, store value and/or xB money movement experiences
• Advanced knowledge of the banking and clearing landscape across multiple geographies with specific focus on transaction banking, e-money, safeguarding, multi currency and cross border payments
• Experience building proprietary global collection and payout networks is ideal
• A proven track record of working in a product centric environment with significant internal and external dependencies across product, engineering, legal, sales, risk and compliance
• Broad and deep experience executing industry-wide partnership strategies to build innovative product experiences and go to market models
• Strong negotiation skills and ambitious on what we should try to do with our partners and how Stripe creates value and differentiation
• An operationally focused mindset, with an ability to see challenging deals through to success, far beyond signing, leading teams through execution by using planning, metrics, and organizational structures
• Having a mindset of contributing to the success of the team and overall company, outside of individual goals and objectives

Responsibilities

• Develop the go-to-partner strategy and execute on our most ambitious company bending bank driven projects that are global and cross border in nature
• Own the banking partner plans, the overall economics, day to day operational excellence and be responsible for the driving the partnerships to successful outcomes for Stripe
• Leverage banking, treasury, stablecoin ecosystem and payments industry knowledge to craft thoughtful partnership and product strategies with transaction banks, lenders, capital markets, central banks and schemes
• Navigate, in partnership with Product to execute deals supporting that strategy and help ensure proper execution plan in place
• Gather inputs from and coordinate with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including risk, compliance, product, finance, treasury) on creation and execution of partner strategy
• Help find the right partner stakeholders that can champion Stripe, educate them about Stripe’s value proposition, understand their needs, and execute deals that address those needs and support our strategy
• Leverage significant industry experience to educate and help internal teams compose our holistic bank led strategy and to advance that strategy with banking partners
• Monitoring of the changing Banking landscape and proactively advise Stripe on product opportunities that could be demonstrated, optimizing or replacing existing products
