Summary

Join Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) as a Patient Call Representative and Finance Assistant! You will play a vital role in helping patients navigate the healthcare system, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and providing administrative support to the CFO. This full-time position offers a hybrid remote work schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days remote). You will utilize the EPIC system, Care Message platform, and other tools to ensure efficient patient care and communication. Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) are required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Detail orientation with strong English communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, telephone, and computer skills (including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to take direction and work positively with a wide range of people
  • Ability to work with indirect supervision successfully
  • Bilingual required – Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Answer the multi-line telephone system promptly, politely, and professionally, providing high-quality customer service
  • Resolve issues in a single call and direct calls to other departments as needed
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • Utilize the EPIC system to register new patients and accurately schedule appointments
  • Answer questions and offer information in a patient-focused manner
  • Record minutes for meetings
  • Act as the CFO’s administrative assistant to facilitate meetings, organize materials, and aid in all communications
  • Utilize the Care Message platform to increase communication with patients, run relevant reports, and create outgoing patient messages as needed
  • Provide support as needed to the front desk staff in the BMC Clinic
  • Provide support to the Referral Coordinator with Behavioral Health Authorizations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of EPIC EMR and Care Message
  • Two years’ experience in a related field
