Payments Officer

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Solid understanding of banking systems and payment methods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment
• Flexible and open to new challenges
• Business-level proficiency in English (B2 level or higher – CEFR)

Responsibilities

• Handle payments to suppliers and other parties using various platforms, including banks, EMIs, and corporate cards
• Verify and validate payment requests and invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance before processing
• Assist in managing and forecasting cash flow to support the company’s liquidity planning
• Maintain an organized and up-to-date record of all payment transactions, ensuring transparency and traceability
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure payment-related matters are handled effectively
• Generate financial reports on payment activities and outstanding balances to support reporting and analysis
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies
• Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payment processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Accounting, and other departments to facilitate effective end-to-end payment operations
• Provide guidance and support to other team members involved in payment-related activities, promoting consistency and knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with banks, payment systems, or high-volume transaction processing is considered an asset
• Knowledge of Kyriba software is a plus
