Summary
Join Employment Hero, a fast-growing SaaS unicorn, as a highly ambitious PH Payroll Accountant. You will play a central role in the Finance team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll and compliance for the Philippines. Initially, you'll collaborate with an external firm, transitioning to in-house payroll processing. This role involves managing two payroll streams, requiring close collaboration with internal and Global Teams. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, self-starter, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position supporting the APAC timezone.
Requirements
- CA/CPA qualified, with at least 3-5 years working experience
- Experience with Philippines payroll legislation and compliance a must
- Intermediate to Advanced experience with Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong planning and organisational skills with aptitude to learn and complete work within agreed deadlines
- Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills to work with various internal and external partners with varying levels of payroll/finance knowledge
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision in an environment of fast growth and ambiguity
- Possess excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll software selection and integration
- Hands on preparation of bi-monthly/off cycle payruns, including expense reimbursements, calculating termination pays, bonuses, leave benefits, sending payslips, loading payments into bank
- Prepare and pay monthly WTW submissions
- Preparation, filing, and remittance of payroll taxes and government contributions
- Annualisation of withholding taxes, preparation and submission of relevant BIR forms
- Processing payroll journals for all payruns
- Prepare relevant payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with cashflow forecasting and reporting
- Main point of contact for payroll-related queries from internal employees, GT employees, external advisors etc
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies, processes and controls to enhance business efficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other regions would be advantageous
- Experience of managing accounting & non accounting projects such as software implementation, process improvements & more
- Experience with Netsuite, Sprout/Sunfish Payroll would be advantageous
- Experience with ESOP would be advantageous
