This player-coach role blends hands-on client work with team leadership, managing a small team of Implementation Consultants while also handling your own client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident in leading through change, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and guiding the team to seamless implementations. Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in client-facing training, HR/payroll implementation, or onboarding, with at least 1–2 years in a mentoring or team leadership capacity
  • A strong grasp of UK legislative payroll requirements
  • Experience designing and delivering training content, including virtual workshops
  • A collaborative and pragmatic approach to leadership – you enjoy helping others succeed
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Experience improving processes and delivering operational efficiencies
  • Confidence using tools like project management systems, time tracking, and CRMs to ensure data integrity

Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a team of Implementation Consultants, providing coaching, guidance and development support
  • Acting as a point of escalation for complex client scenarios
  • Managing your own portfolio of implementation projects
  • Designing, developing and delivering Payroll and HR implementation content to clients based on best practice
  • Educating clients on how to use the Employment Hero platform effectively
  • Troubleshooting issues and guiding clients through the setup process
  • Partnering with other CX teams to ensure a seamless handover post-implementation
  • Driving process improvements to streamline implementation delivery
  • Monitoring team performance and contributing to reporting and resourcing conversations
  • Supporting new starters and ensuring high onboarding standards across the team
