As a Tax Operations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of tax deposits and filings for our clients. You will be responsible for resolving tax discrepancies, communicating with tax authorities, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. This role requires proven experience in payroll tax compliance and tax resolution, along with strong knowledge of relevant regulations. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience using MasterTax software
  • 2+ years of tax resolution experience
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a service bureau
  • Comfortable working with large datasets
  • Proven experience in payroll tax compliance and tax notice resolution
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Proficient in G Suite, especially Google Sheets

Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely processing of tax deposits and resolve quarter-end variances
  • Identify and implement improvements in tax operations, including corrections and amendments
  • First line of contact for federal, state, and local tax notices
  • Investigate and resolve tax discrepancies
  • Maintain communication with tax authorities and minimize errors impacting tax notices
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients on their tax matters and necessary resolutions
  • Proactively address payroll tax inquiries and issues with employees and external partners
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax filings and payments for assigned clients, adhering to deadlines and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and escalate issues as necessary
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested by your manager to support the overall success of the Tax Ops team

Preferred Qualifications

  • FPC or similar certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
