Peer Support Specialist

Summary

Join Addiction Recovery Care, LLC (ARC), a fast-growing healthcare system in addiction treatment and mental health services. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will help individuals overcome substance abuse addiction in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Key responsibilities include holding peer support groups, maintaining confidentiality, charting duties, and performing residential staff duties as needed. Required qualifications are being Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky and having a high school diploma or GED. Other qualifications include self-motivation, good communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, problem-solving abilities, basic computer skills, and availability to work some evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Must be Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Hold peer support groups for the clients of the center
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with company, state, federal and HIPAA rules and regulations
• Charting duties for insurance purposes
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward clients, staff and volunteers
• Handle crisis situations in a calm supportive manner
• Complete drug screening when needed
• Create a safe and healthy environment for clients
• Perform Residential Staff duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduate or GED preferred
