Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or transportation, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including inventory management, transportation logistics, and warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements, including HACCP, OSHA, and DOT regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and other relevant software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, with a strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse and transportation departments
  • Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse storage, inventory management, and transportation routes
  • Ensure accurate and timely inventory management
  • Oversee the scheduling, routing, and tracking of transportation operations
  • Ensure all warehouse and transportation activities comply with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Develop and manage the budget for warehouse and transportation operations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve service levels
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, transportation vendors, and equipment suppliers
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, on-time delivery, and cost management
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure that customer requirements are met and exceeded
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain
