Platform Architect

Summary

Join Gorilla Logic as a Platform Architect to lead the development and optimization of cloud infrastructure, Terraform-based automation, and Kubernetes (GKE) management. You will collaborate with engineering teams to ensure scalability, security, and reliability in a high-scale microservices environment. Responsibilities include leading monorepo decomposition, designing Kubernetes cluster migrations, optimizing Terraform code, and architecting multi-cluster GKE deployments. This role requires 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and digital transformation, along with expertise in Google Cloud (GCP), Kubernetes, and Terraform. Strong scripting skills and experience with CI/CD automation are essential. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in microservices architecture and Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, and Digital Transformation, with exposure to cloud engineering, digital product development, or data & AI
• Experience working with Fortune 500 clients or managing large-scale, complex projects
• Expertise in multiple Service Lines within a respective Service Area
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud (GCP)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments (Anthos, EKS, AKS, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Terraform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and best practices for cloud provisioning
• Software Development & Automation
• Advanced proficiency in microservices architecture, GitOps, and infrastructure automation
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation and DevOps workflows
• Experience in CI/CD automation with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or ArgoCD
• Hands-on experience with cloud security best practices, identity management, and compliance (IAM, RBAC, KMS)
• Strong knowledge of observability tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry)
• Experience working with service meshes such as Istio, Linkerd, or Cilium, particularly for microservices networking and security
• Expertise in modern architectural patterns, including microservices, data lakes, and event-driven architectures
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and DevOps delivery frameworks
• Experience with project and risk management methodologies to ensure successful delivery
• Fluent in English (verbal and written), with the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to English-speaking stakeholders
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Ability to quickly establish credibility in a consulting environment
• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring, with a passion for developing talent

Responsibilities

• Lead the monorepo decomposition, breaking it into a modular structure
• Design and execute Kubernetes cluster migrations leveraging new GCP features
• Optimize and refactor Terraform code for improved scalability and maintainability
• Architect and implement multi-cluster/multi-regional GKE deployments
• Drive the MySQL to PostgreSQL migration, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity
• Collaborate with developers to enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Ensure disaster recovery, backup, and failover strategies for infrastructure and databases
• Implement best practices for observability, security, and performance tuning
