Summary

Join Stitch Fix as an experienced engineer to design and build the next generation of API tooling and infrastructure. You will help empower engineering teams by providing intuitive, safe, and autonomous API tools. This role involves developing key infrastructure supporting customer- and internal-facing systems, using modern practices like TDD and continuous delivery. You will significantly impact API offerings, define standards, and lead cross-team projects. Collaboration with stakeholders and proactive communication are crucial. This position offers high responsibility and the chance to contribute to a culture of technical collaboration.

Requirements

  • Have at least 3-4 years of professional programming experience
  • Have hands-on experience with Ruby, Rails, Python and GraphQL schema design
  • Have experience independently leading cross-team projects & initiatives
  • Have strong written communication skills and are able to develop strong working relationships with coworkers and business partners

Responsibilities

  • Help design, develop, and continue to grow infrastructure and tooling that directly supports product development teams
  • Have a significant impact on the API offerings at Stitch Fix by helping define standards, best practices, and performance targets for our GraphQL API
  • Be an owner of highly visible, high-impact, cross-team projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders while leading the technical discovery, decision-making, and execution of complex and/or critical projects within the team
  • Operate as an engaged member of the engineering team - leading meetings, attending ceremonies, providing input on technical design documents & project plans, pairing with other engineers to work toward a solution, etc
  • Proactively communicate status updates or changes to the scope or timeline of projects to stakeholders and leadership
  • Share the responsibility of directing the team’s investment in impactful directions
  • Contribute to a culture of technical collaboration and scalable, resilient systems
  • Work within a distributed team of software engineers and cross-functional partners who are passionate about their craft
  • Have high responsibility for deliverables and will be helping to guide what you work on
