Summary

The job is for a Power BI Developer at Rackspace Technology. The candidate should have experience with MS BI Stack (Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server, Azure) and be familiar with other BI tools like Tableau and Qlikview. They are expected to develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau or Qlik, gather business requirements, connect to multiple datasets, have strong BI modelling skills, and troubleshoot common database issues. Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and the ability to work in a team/collaborative environment are also required. Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure SQL database is preferred.

Requirements

Experience and familiarity with MS BI Stack (Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server, Azure)
2 years of experience in BI tools (tableau, qlikview etc.) with over 1 yr experience in Power BI with in-depth development experience with recent versions of SQL Server
Hands on professional with thorough knowledge of scripting, data source integration and advanced GUI development in Power BI
Strong BI modelling skills using Analysis services with the ability translate reporting needs to a BI model which can serve the report as well as adhoc analytics
Creating Power BI reports that represent different findings & insights from the data using interactive charts and maps
Experience creating calculated measures and columns with DAX in MS Power BI Desktop
Expert knowledge using advanced calculations using MS Power BI Desktop ( Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table)
Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team/collaborative environment but to also work independently with the customer
Solid communication and interpersonal skills is a must (client facing position). Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally with end customers

Responsibilities

Develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau or Qlik
Gather and understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications
Connect to multiple datasets to bring all of the relevant data together in one place and create reports that provide a consolidated view of the different sources

Preferred Qualifications

Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL database
