Requirements

  • A master's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 4+ years of experience in the electric power industry or a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems engineering
  • Experience with two or more power system modeling tools such as Dayzer, Tranzer, PowerWorld, PSS/E, or similar
  • Comfortable reading and writing Python code and have experience with collaborative software development
  • Knowledge about optimal power flow modeling, security constrained economic dispatch (SCED) algorithms, contingency analysis, and transmission shift and loss factors
  • Familiarity with modeling energy resources and storage as well as US power markets

Responsibilities

Develop electric grid and market simulations which inform the development of market-leading power contract origination strategies

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge or familiarity with optimization techniques such as convex, stochastic, and robust optimization and linear and convex programming is a plus
