Join Altium's Valispace team as a Systems Engineer and optimize the performance of complex cloud applications within the Altium 365 platform. You will define the technical direction for infrastructure, ensuring system robustness and scalability. This role involves solving intricate system issues, optimizing performance, and collaborating with various teams. You will design and architect systems, create documentation, participate in code reviews, and provide technical support. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in systems engineering, particularly in cloud-based application development, and proficiency in system design principles. Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, specifically in complex cloud based application development
- Proficiency in system design and architecture principles such as microservices, event-driven architectures, caching, load balancing, etc
- Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RESTful APIs)
- Experience using design tools such as Miro, Figma, or similar for creating system diagrams and workflows
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) to communicate complex ideas effectively
Responsibilities
- Define the technical direction for our infrastructure, ensuring system robustness, scalability, and adaptability to our product's evolving needs
- Engage in both solo and collaborative efforts to solve intricate system issues, from optimizing nginx configurations to refining database queries and ensuring seamless deployment strategies
- Identify and implement solutions to streamline operations, enhance system responsiveness, and improve the overall user experience
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to define system requirements and specifications for web applications
- Design and architect systems considering scalability, performance, and security
- Create detailed system diagrams and documentation using design tools like Miro or Figma
- Analyze existing systems and recommend improvements or optimizations
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Coordinate testing efforts to validate system functionality and performance
- Provide technical support and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously enhance system designs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices
- Understanding of database design and management
- Knowledge of security best practices in web application development
