Principal Devops Engineer

Summary

Join Western Digital as a DevOps Engineer specializing in security and Git operations. Lead initiatives collaborating with product development and security teams. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps
• Proven experience in a DevSecOps or security-focused role
• Strong Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
• Proficient in GitHub and GitHub Actions, including experience with managing repositories and setting up CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and automation tools
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Solid understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security practices into the CI/CD pipeline
• Develop and implement automated security testing tools and processes to identify vulnerabilities early in the development process
• Implement monitoring solutions, respond to incidents, building rapid response and debugging capabilities
• Create and maintain documentation related to operations, processes, configurations, and best practices
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies, proposing improvements to existing implementations to optimize development workflows
• Foster strong collaboration between development and operations teams, promoting a DevOps culture focused on efficiency, transparency, and continuous improvement
