Summary

Join Aledade's Experience Design and Research team as a Principal Experience Designer. You will play a critical role in crafting user experiences for primary care practices and their patients within the value-based care system. This individual contributor role involves leading design for multiple sub-teams, collaborating with cross-functional leads, and driving team-wide experience metrics. You will also help coordinate and guide junior designers, articulate a design vision, and serve as a point of contact for feedback between teams. The position requires extensive experience in product and interaction design, strong communication skills, and proficiency in various design tools. Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in product and interaction design – designing and prototyping end-to-end digital experiences with cross-functional teams working in iterative environments
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in leading, facilitating, & executing complex, iterative design workstreams that span digital and non-digital touchpoints with diverse stakeholders of varying degrees of familiarity with design
  • Proven experience crafting and managing a roadmap of design projects across multiple, related domains, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines effectively
  • Able to coordinate the work of more junior designers, helping them develop while still meeting design timelines
  • Experience facilitating design critiques and design review forums for your and other designers’ work
  • Superb communication skills and proven storytelling ability – can clearly articulate the what, why, and how of their approaches and tailor a message to the audience
  • Fluency and skill with a variety of design related tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Drive design for a group of designers that spans multiple sub-teams, focused on interconnected points between products, or novel approaches to customer interaction with our products/services
  • Partner with other Design, Product, and Technical leads to anticipate customer challenges that need to be addressed through design, skillfully building consensus and engaging in dialogue to prioritize work in your area. Negotiate design trade-offs with cross functional leads so that customer impact can be considered alongside business and technical implications
  • Participate in driving team-wide experience metrics, helping to distill what is important for Design, Product, and other partner teams to understand. You may curate dashboards, ad-hoc data reports, or visualizations of metrics to help teams align around problem and solution opportunities
  • Articulate a design vision beyond the roadmap, anticipating areas of opportunity and overlap grounded in your deep domain and customer expertise. The articulation is actionable and results in teams taking action
  • Serve as a point of contact and escalation for feedback between teams, ensuring adequate cadence, scope, coverage, and outcomes. You proactively identify gaps and areas of friction and work to address them
  • Help coordinate and guide the work of more junior designers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading the delivery of design for software in-house, including usage of engineering ticketing systems such as Jira
  • Experience contributing to and/or using design system components
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills, especially in an environment working alongside engineers and product managers
  • Experience working in complex and or highly regulated industries such as healthcare
  • Service design experience that includes mapping, understanding, and improving complex internal and external user journeys
  • Exposure to or experience with gathering qualitative feedback on designs
  • Experience facilitating workshops or design sprints
  • Experience with common product prioritization and project management methods
