Summary

Join Sumo Logic as a Principal Product Manager to lead the vision and strategy for data collection within our observability product portfolio. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure successful product delivery and market execution. This role requires defining roadmaps, working with diverse data collection technologies (like Open Telemetry), identifying product development opportunities, and developing detailed product requirements. You will also lead a team of product managers, gather market intelligence, and effectively communicate across technical and business teams. Success in this position demands strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of customer engagement and timely delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Product Management and, preferably, exposure to a log analytics, security, or observability product area
  • Experience working directly with technical engineering teams and in a matrixed Product Management team environment
  • Understanding and ability to define technical specifications, write high-level documents, and interpret security and compliance requirements into concrete product requirements
  • Excellent communication and proven track record with deep customer engagements, hands-on execution and timely delivery
  • BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Define vision, strategy and roadmap to deliver an observability data collection experience that is intuitive, shows quick time to value and creates a leadership position for our observability products
  • Work with requirements for multiple observability data collection technologies such as Open Telemetry, cloud APIs, and infrastructure and application event data
  • Identify opportunities based on innovations, drive product development with multiple global teams
  • Develop detailed product requirements, features, integrations and use cases. Own prioritization and functional requirements
  • Lead and develop a team of highly motivated and created Product Managers
  • Capture market and competitive intelligence to inform the platform direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with Open Telemetry
  • An MBA
  • An ability to navigate complex decision-making and effectively communicate across teams
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively with both, technical and business leaders
