Product Compliance Intern

Join Thrive Market as a Product Compliance Intern and play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our Owned Brand products. This internship involves reviewing documentation for 350+ SKUs from 100+ vendors to guarantee compliance with FDA, USDA, and Thrive Market standards. You will act as a technical reviewer, ensuring accuracy in nutrition facts, ingredient specifications, certifications, and allergen statements. The internship requires strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The position offers valuable experience in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. The internship is a minimum of 15 hours per week for at least 3 months, with a suggested wage of $18-$25/hour.

Requirements

• Background in or current enrollment in a Food Science or Nutrition degree program
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA labeling laws and regulatory requirements
• Support the QA & Merchandising teams to ensure products are adequately verified, audited and compliant with all regulatory requirements and Thrive Market (TM) standards
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration across all levels of the company, vendors, and customers

Responsibilities

• Assist the Product Innovators and Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) teams to re-review all Owned Brand products launched before the current FSQA review process
• Collect and review documents for 350+ SKUs with approximately 100+ vendors
• Ensure all required paperwork is reviewed and completed accurately before final review by the FSQA team
• Manage and complete compliance documentation for 100+ vendors across 350+ existing SKUs
• Serve as the technical reviewer of vendor document and specification submissions of nutrition facts panels, ingredient specifications, certifications and product testing to support claims, allergen statements etc. for all product categories to include food and non-food
• Ensure correct completion of the compliance specification documents for Thrive Market Brand (TMB) products
• Review vendor documents and certification as they relate to verification of label & regulatory compliance and any other program support and administration

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 hours and up to 24 hours per week
• Must be available for a minimum of 3 months
• Suggested wage based on location and experience $18-$25/hr
