Summary

Join ServiceNow's dynamic legal team as an outstanding product attorney supporting rapidly growing product teams. Reporting to the Director of Product Legal, you will advise on product matters and legal risk mitigation, negotiate technology transactions, and provide first-line support for product-related issues. This role requires a business-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex legal issues. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, allowing for work from a ServiceNow office or a remote U.S. location. ServiceNow values inclusivity and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
  • Current member in good standing of a U.S. state bar
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of a software or large SaaS enterprise company advising clients in the full range of product development matters
  • 4+ years of product counseling/in-house experience
  • Significant experience drafting and negotiating technology transactions and handling complex IP-related legal issues
  • The ability to independently investigate and understand new issues, technologies and functionality, and communicate the results of that investigation across a variety of relevant teams
  • Familiarity with key issues impacting enterprise technology industry
  • A very strong orientation as a team-player and a bias for sharing information
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and outstanding business judgment and an innovative approach to legal issues in support of strategic business initiatives and objectives
  • A self-starter able to prioritize workload to set goals and meet deadlines in a fluctuating and sometimes ambiguous environment

Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide variety of product matters and legal risk mitigation strategies
  • Negotiate technology transactions agreements, including inbound technology licenses, development agreements, and pre-release agreements
  • Provide first-line support for all product related issues including privacy, security, compliance and AI issues
