Requirements

  • 10+ years in regulatory filings with strong relationships in state insurance departments
  • Broad knowledge of life insurance products and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to shape and refine insurance applications
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with a demonstrated track record of influencing regulatory outcomes
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with carriers, legal, and compliance teams
  • Highly self-sufficient and entrepreneurial, capable of driving both strategic initiatives and day-to-day filings
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Lead End-to-End Filings: Own and manage the Ethos portion of the filing process for policy forms and applications, ensuring speed, compliance, and quality
  • Inform Product Development Strategy: Collaborate with Product, Legal, Compliance, and carrier partners to refine product features and applications that balance innovation with regulatory standards
  • Influence Regulatory Outcomes: Maintain and leverage strong relationships with state insurance regulators, positioning Ethos for proactive approvals and timely feedback
  • Optimize Application Design: Provide expert guidance on bracketing, reflexive questions, and variability, enabling flexible yet compliant product offerings
  • Monitor Industry Trends: Stay ahead of regulatory changes and competitor filings, translating insights into tangible strategies and recommendations for product evolution
