Product Lead

Summary

The job is for an IBC Product Lead at the Interchain Foundation, responsible for defining, developing, and executing the product strategy for IBC. The role involves market research, product development, community engagement, and more. Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of relevant experience, strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience with Agile development methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in product management / software development or related technical roles, preferably with experience within the blockchain space
• Strong technical background with the ability to discuss complex protocols with the protocol and engineering teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and product management processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to motivate a team and get buy-in to head towards a shared goal

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the product roadmap for IBC
• Conduct market and user research to identify opportunities, trends, and competitor activities in blockchain interoperability
• Work closely with the engineering team to set priorities and manage the product development lifecycle
• Engage with the wider blockchain community, including other chains, developers, and stakeholders, to foster partnerships, drive adoption, and understand user needs and pain points
• Translate pain points into user stories and product requirements
• Collaborate with product marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and educational content about IBC
• Analyse product metrics and user feedback to continuously improve and iterate on IBC
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and technical discussions related to blockchain interoperability
• Manage and communicate with stakeholders internally and externally to set expectations and ensure collaborative efforts run smoothly
• Mentor and help members of the product team to grow and excel: product marketing, junior product manager and product engineer

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in open-source development
• Experience with any of the Interchain-Stack components (IBC, Cosmos SDK, CometBFT)
• An understanding of the Cosmos ecosystem
• Living in Berlin or willingness to relocate so that you can work in person with some of the IBC team members and the CPO
