Summary
Join Ellevation Education as their first Product Manager focused on accessibility! You will be a key player in developing organizational competencies in accessibility, working cross-functionally with leadership and other product teams. Leverage your deep understanding of WCAG and assistive technologies to create and maintain accessibility documentation and influence strategic decisions. You will work across the product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, ensuring positive impact on customers and the company. Requirements
- Have 4-6+ years of relevant product management experience
- Have a passion for inclusion and deep experience working with accessibility, especially WCAG standards and assistive technologies
- Have a strong orientation to user experience and front-end application design
- Have a track record of working cross-functionally to drive business outcomes, manage trade-offs, and deliver iterative solutions in an enterprise SaaS environment
- Be highly accountable for your work, owning problems from beginning to end with urgency
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate nuanced strategic decisions to non-experts
- Be naturally curious and demonstrate an eagerness to learn from others
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of key challenges and strategic context facing Ellevation, particularly regarding accessibility and inclusive design
- Work closely with R&D Leadership to understand Ellevation’s design system and overarching accessibility strategy
- Learn about key in-progress initiatives across the product portfolio
- Develop rapport with key stakeholders and team members at Ellevation and Curriculum Associates
- Shape and influence important decisions to drive forward Ellevation’s accessibility strategy
- Get buy-in from key stakeholders on how to document accessibility claims
- Work with product and engineering leaders to inform iterative solutions
- Establish influential, high-trust relationships across the organization to advocate for accessibility goals
- Take ownership over key components of Ellevation’s accessibility strategy
- Effectively document and create buy-in around strategic accessibility claims
- Work with colleagues on the commercial side to build good governance around accessibility
- Grow influence across the organization
- Take full ownership over accessibility strategy
- Drive key outcomes against business goals and support the transformation of the product suite
- Work cross-functionally to ensure success across the end-to-end product life cycle, from discovery to delivery
- Deeply understand the business and develop relationships across the organization
- Create opportunities for others to contribute to your work
- Ensure stakeholders understand your work, its purpose, and that their ideas/concerns are considered
- Conduct experiments, adjust strategy based on learnings, and deliver products that change behavior and drive value
