Requirements
- You have 2-4+ years of relevant experience, including ideally 2+ years of direct product management experience
- You have experience working with products at the intersection of content and technology as well as a deep interest in how the two work together to deliver meaningful experiences
- You have a strong orientation to user experience and front-end application design, ideally including supporting accessibility and student accommodations
- You have experience helping to build cohesive team cultures through rituals, engagement, and leadership
- You have a strong interest in the K-12 education space and bring an experimental and curious mindset to understanding new problems
- You have a strong track record of working cross-functionally to drive business outcomes, manage trade offs, and deliver products incrementally in an agile environment
- You are highly accountable for your work; you own problems from beginning to end with urgency
- You are experimental and curious; you love to test ideas, learn quickly, fail fast, and iterate
- You demonstrate an eagerness to learn from others, to identify meaningful problems to solve, and to explore a variety of solutions to those problems
- Remote employees for this role will be expected to travel about 10 times per year (for visits to the Boston office, company-sponsored off sites, and customer visits)
Responsibilities
- Lead the agile team focused on developing the student experience for the new benchmark assessment, including collaborating with Education Solutions to support the content development needs of the project
- Work closely with other members of the Product team, with Design, Education, Engineering, and customer-facing peers to understand and deliver on requirements for question types, student accommodations and accessibility needs
- Help evaluate options for streamlining and optimizing the content authoring and ingest processes
- Identify and weigh trade-offs around short- and long-term investments, and you will drive an experimental and iterative approach to delivery, aligned to our overall assessment strategy
- Work cross-functionally to ensure success across the end-to-end product life cycle, from discovery to delivery, to ensure the work of the product organization has a positive impact on our customers and on our company
- This involves deeply understanding the business and developing relationships across the organization
- Importantly, this means creating opportunities for others to plug in to your work and ensuring stakeholders understand what you are doing, why you are doing it, and that you have factored their ideas and/or concerns into that thinking
- Build a clear picture of the key challenges and strategic context facing Ellevation with a particular eye on our emerging assessment solutions
- Establish working norms with your partners in Engineering and EdSol to support rapid collaboration
- Identify key workstreams that the team needs to address in the areas of student testing, content presentation, and content development
- Work alongside design, engineering, EdSol, and Product leadership to prioritize development of new increments that optimize how we move the different project goals forward
- Set ambitious learning objectives that drive the pace and quality of experiments, decisions, and delivery on the team
- Establish influential, high-trust relationships across the organization
- Leverage live and virtual direct discovery with users to uncover and prioritize high-impact business opportunities for the student assessment experience
- Work with Assessment Leadership to define an approach to product investments that positions the team to make significant progress towards delivering on required components that support our Janβ26 launch goals
- Collaborating with Assessment Leadership and your cross-functional peers, help to define a multi-year plan for evolving student benchmark assessments that support robust EL programs
- Develop a plan for on-going support of Education Solution content development and life-cycle management
