Summary

Join Rittal North America as a Production Manager Assembly and manage manufacturing and production teams, overseeing production schedules and inventory. Enforce company procedures, maintain quality standards, and recommend equipment purchases. Manage supervisors and individual contributors, partnering with leadership on hiring, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Continuously improve operational characteristics, develop future leaders, and establish 6S workplace standards. Partner with other functions for optimal solutions and coach direct reports on efficiency improvements. Assist manufacturing engineering in work area design and embrace world-class manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • 2-year degree in Process or Manufacturing Engineering required
  • 4-year degree along with 2 years manufacturing experience
  • 6-years of experience in Manufacturing Leadership Environment
  • Service in a leadership role is also required
  • Candidate needs solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
  • Working knowledge of widely used Microsoft products
  • Proven capacity to coordinate and lead remote teams, working in different geographic locations
  • Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules, and vendors/subcontractors
  • Ability to operate under pressure, within tight deadlines and in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously review the operational leadership group, Supervisors and Team Leaders, for the assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Apply the annual review process for direct reports
  • Proactively pursue improved levels of Safety performance and evaluate countermeasures for Safety issues
  • Proactively pursue improved levels of Quality performance and evaluate countermeasures for Quality issues
  • Manage the roster to approved staffing levels
  • Continuously improve the base operating characteristics of the assigned area(s) - Flexibility, Delivery Reliability, and Team Morale - across all shifts
  • Identify and specifically develop future leaders through situational training, continuous feedback, and assigned course work
  • Establish requirements for workplace 6S and deploy processes to meet those standards, be visitor-ready at all times
  • Partner directly with leaders from other functions to pursue best “Total Rittal” solutions for operational challenges and cross-company issues
  • Coach direct reports in the active pursuit of improved material flow and other methods to improve efficiency
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in design and layout of work areas and minimize all types of waste.  Be the voice of the operation in any planning activities or discussions
  • Embrace and teach principles to achieve a “World Class” manufacturing environment by use of established RPS teams
  • Continuously improve your own skills and competencies and act as a role model in all your activities.  Demonstrate effective project management skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven working experience with electronic, Industrial manufacturing preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • SAP experience is a plus
