Join Blue Water Thinking as a Strategic Department-Level Program Agilist, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This fully remote role leverages your expert knowledge of Agile principles to improve program management. You will develop strategies, build a Community of Practice, provide thought leadership, standardize tools, and create educational materials. You'll advise senior leadership, collaborate with stakeholders, and conduct Agile maturity assessments. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of Agile program management experience, and strong expertise in Agile frameworks. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in Agile program management or a similar role
- Strong expertise in Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe
- Proven ability to address common Agile implementation challenges and recommend strategies to overcome them
- Experience managing complex programs and cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing strategies that leverage agile, traditional and lean practices to guide the best approaches for managing Government projects and product development
- Support the development of a Community of Practice (CoP) or Stakeholder Outreach Program to promote Agile best practices
- Provide thought leadership and develop strategies to prepare program managers for Agile implementation
- Standardize tools, processes, and templates to enhance consistency across Agile programs
- Develop guides, workshops, and educational materials to improve skills for executing Agile projects effectively
- Advise senior leadership on appropriate Agile frameworks to optimize delivery and business value
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address organizational needs, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Oversee the preparation of deliverables such as briefings, training materials, templates, reports, and graphics
- Conduct Agile maturity assessments to evaluate project performance and recommend improvements
- Support program planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring alignment with customer objectives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal organizations
- 10+ years of professional experience in consulting, project management, or related fields
- Certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or Project Management Professional (PMP)
