Progress Database Engineer

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Progress application development
• Proficient in Progress 4GL, OpenEdge, and ABL
• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL
• Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Progress 4GL, OpenEdge, and ABL
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, build, and enhance application features
• Optimize applications for high performance, speed, and scalability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in a timely manner
• Conduct code reviews, implement best practices, and perform testing
• Prepare technical documentation and deliver user training when required
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using OpenEdge reporting tools
• Perform ETL operations to extract, transform, and load data from OpenEdge databases for reporting
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and dashboards
