Summary
Join our team as a Project Engineer specializing in stormwater management and drainage design. You will develop innovative stormwater solutions, prepare design calculations, and ensure regulatory compliance. This primarily remote position requires monthly travel to MD for meetings. Responsibilities include designing stormwater systems, performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, preparing SWPPPs and erosion control designs, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams. You will ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and assist with report preparation and client coordination. The salary range is $70,000-$120,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze stormwater management systems, including detention/retention ponds, culverts, storm sewers, and channel improvements
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, SWMM, and StormCAD
- Prepare stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP), erosion control designs, and drainage impact studies
- Conduct site grading and drainage design for land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop project plans, specifications, and reports
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal stormwater regulations, including MS4 permits and FEMA floodplain requirements
- Assist in preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and permitting documentation
- Support project managers with client coordination, permitting, and construction support services
- Perform site visits and field investigations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with site grading and land development design is a plus
