Summary

Join Swish Analytics, a sports analytics startup, as a Technical Project Manager to play a key role in building and guiding the next generation of data science products. This 100% remote position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute data science and data engineering initiatives. You will be responsible for developing project plans, managing backlogs, and communicating project status to stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership and communication skills, along with experience in project management, particularly within data science or data engineering. A competitive salary starting at $110,000 is offered.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
• Possess 3+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on data science and/or data engineering projects
• Have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
• Possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail
• Show proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, such as Asana or Jira
• Have hands-on experience with data science tools and technologies, such as Python, SQL, AWS, etc

Responsibilities

• Closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute on data science & data engineering initiatives, setting strategic direction, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving continuous improvement
• Define and document project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
• Devise and adapt strategies for executing on necessary goals
• Communicate project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders, including senior management
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated project & communication artifacts
• Manage the data science backlog and prioritize them based on evolving requirements
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
• Assist in the staffing and assignment of resources based on project needs

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
