Summary
Join CALSTART, a mission-driven organization focused on transportation decarbonization, as a key contributor to the Zero Emission School Bus and Infrastructure (ZESBI) incentive project. This $500 million initiative requires support in designing and implementing the vehicle-related components of the program. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the California Energy Commission (CEC) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB), to ensure seamless application processes and data collection. Responsibilities include supporting the design and implementation of the ZESBI incentive processing portal, processing applications, troubleshooting issues, and working with various teams to assist applicants. The role also involves monitoring compliance with relevant policies and regulations, developing SOPs, and leveraging expertise to enhance CALSTART's reputation. Requirements
- California or national school bus and/or infrastructure industry knowledge
- 3-4 years of project management experience
- 3-4 years of working with potential "customers" and moving them through a pipeline or funnel
- Proven ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear understandable language for stakeholders and other interested parties
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills as well as ability to communicate via presentations and written deliverables
- Strong ability to meet or exceed deadlines and able to work with minimal supervision
- Bachelors Degree in Public Administration, Sustainability, Environmental or other related fields or analogous experience
- Experience managing projects
- Ability to gather and analyze information and problem solve to reach a solution
- Demonstrated experience using computer applications, including MS Suite, CRM, etc
- Experience working on projects that require a high refinement of detail
- Explain complex processes and requirements in a concise and professional manner to stakeholders and other interested parties
- Experience using both written and verbal means to communicate with other agencies, stakeholders, industry, and the general public
- Ability to produce and manage relationships to attract and engage specific audiences
- Experience establishing priorities and manage multiple activities to meet rigorous deadlines
Responsibilities
- Support School Bus Team to design and implement ZESBI
- Support cross-team functionality to roll out a seamless joint application process from start to finish (infrastructure and vehicles)
- Support synergies between ZESBI and other school bus and infrastructure funding mechanisms, particularly Standard HVIP, the HVIP Public School Bus Set Aside, and EnergIIZE, in order to articulate a seamless end-user experience for school districts and stakeholders
- Support the design and implementation of programmatic data collection plans focused on electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and zero-emission school buses
- Support infrastructure and school bus stakeholder industry engagement as it relates to the above synergies and industry momentum more broadly
- Work with Salesforce team to design and implement the ZESBI incentive processing portal
- Work with internal Incentive Processing Team to process applications, troubleshoot portal issues, etc
- Work with other teams and departments within CALSTART to provide assistance to ZESBI applicants and help projects succeed
- Work with state agencies, industry stakeholders, and the above-mentioned team members to execute incentive design, stakeholder engagement, participation and policy implementation, and end-user experience
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations concerning EV infrastructure and zero-emission school buses
- Monitor applications, incentive agreements, redemptions, and other documentation including developing SOPs and internal controls for these deliverables, under direction of the Electric School Bus, Lead Project Manager
- Leverage expertise to further CALSTARTβs reputation in the school bus and infrastructure industries
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience with writing grant applications, preferably for transit-related and/or infrastructure related projects
- Experience with planning and/or deploying zero-emission buses and/or supporting infrastructure
- Knowledge of the advanced transportation industry, zero-emission vehicles and supporting technology
- Planning for transit and/or school bus infrastructure designs
