Summary
Join Energy Solutions, a growing company focused on market-based programs for energy and water savings, as a full-time Solar Programs Project Manager II. You will assist in driving customer participation in solar renewable energy programs, playing a key role in the clean energy transition. This position supports the Illinois Shines program, assisting Illinois residents in transitioning to solar power more affordably. The role involves providing program support to solar developers and installers, collecting feedback, analyzing market trends, and leading project implementation. Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with an energy focus, preference being towards renewable energy policy, small business administration, mechanical or electrical engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience
- Small Distributed Generation solar market knowledge and experience
- Flexibility and adaptability in regard to project focus
- Demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative solar market reporting and analysis
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact knowledgeably and professionally with solar developers and installers, and to serve as the primary point of contact on small DG projects
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Office
- Ability to work and thrive independently
- Excellent personal accountability and quality control practices
- Willingness to conduct occasional business travel, including the Energy Solutions’ Chicago office
Responsibilities
- Provide Program support, including hosting regular one-on-one check-ins, hosting feedback roundtables and providing program resources to solar developers and installers that submit small residential and small commercial distributed generation projects (small DG) to the Illinois Shines Program
- Collect small DG solar developer and installer feedback to help identify program administration improvement opportunities and additional training and education needs
- Regularly collect and analyze small DG solar market trends to determine program impacts and present findings and recommendations to the client Partner with internal stakeholders and other team members to identify process improvement opportunities
- Lead project implementation of small DG training, feedback or other support initiatives as needed
- Support the Illinois Shines Mentorship Program registration, training implementation and networking event
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of solar incentive programs, and the Illinois Shines Program in particular, a plus
- Formal project management training and/or certification a plus
- Familiarity with Slack, Salesforce and/or SharePoint a plus
